The yellow lines you see dividing the roadway is a indicator to divide the road for oncoming traffic. You shouldn't pass other cars because the flow of traffic is coming the other direction. Broken yellow lines in the middle of a roadway, means that you can pass. Double yellow lines in the middle of a roadway means that you can't pass on the road.
