What is the change that occurs to the parent function f(x) = x2 given the function f(x) = -2x2 + 2

The parent function is f(x) = x square.

And the given function is

[tex] f(x) = -2x^2 +2 [/tex]

Because of 2 that is with x square, the graph stretches vertically by 2 units . And because of minus sign, the graph reflects across x axis and because of +2 with the function, the graph moves up by the two units . So the transformations are , vertical stretch by 2 units, reflects acrosss x axis and translated 2 units up .
