[tex] \bf -3=-7+4(x+6)\implies \stackrel{\textit{adding 7 to both sides}}{4=4(x+6)}\implies \stackrel{\textit{dividing both sides by 4}}{\cfrac{4}{4}=\cfrac{4(x+6)}{4}}
\\\\\\
1=x+6\implies \stackrel{\textit{subtracting 6 from both sides}}{-5=x} [/tex]
