For this question, simply plug in the value of x, as shown below.

[tex]f(1) = 7 - 3(1)[/tex]

[tex]f(1) = 7 - 3[/tex]

f(1) = 4


[tex]g(1) = 3(1) - 7[/tex]

[tex]g(1) = 3 - 7[/tex]

g(1) = -4

4 + (-4) is zero, but the answer has to be more than or equal to zero to make sense, so f(1) + g(1) ≥ 0.
