That's all a matter of opinion but I would say yes because it allows for similar laws all across the nation rather than 50 different ways of governing which is the cause in certain circumstances. Some would claim that to much power centralized would lead to tyranny so it really is up to your own personal opinion on if it is the best way to govern the country or not.
