The library at Alexandria in Egypt became the center of research, literature, and science. Also known as the Royal Library of Alexandria, this library, created by Ptolemy I Soter, was one of the biggest and most important libraries during ancient Egypt. Its vast collection of papyrus scrolls and books is what made this library a center of knowledge for centuries. The library is famously known for its historic destruction where many of its collections were burned with it.
