Hey there! :)

3[-x + (2x + 1)] = x - 1

Simplify the parenthesis!

3[-x + 2x + 1]  =x - 1

Add like terms.

3[x + 1] = x - 1

Simplify!

3x + 3 = x - 1

Subtract 1x from both sides.

3x + 3 - 1x = x - 1 - 1x

Simplify.

2x + 3 = -1

Subtract 3 from both sides.

2x = -4

Divide both sides by 2.

2x ÷ 2 = -4 ÷ 2

Simplify.

x = -2

~Hope I helped! :)
