the first thing you need to do is

divide the whole equation by rt as shown below

[tex] \frac{i}{rt} = \frac{prt}{rt} [/tex]

then you cancel out. leaving

[tex] \frac{i}{rt} = p[/tex]

which is the same as

[tex]p = \frac{i}{rt} [/tex]
