okay so first you gotta plug g(x) into f(x) by replacing all the x’s with x-5

4(x-5)+1

then you distribute the 4 by multiplying it by x and -5

4x-20+1

then you add together like terms (-20 and 1)

4x-19

then you plug in 4 for x

4(4)-19

4*4 is sixteen so

16-19

then you subtract 19 and get -3
