Answer:  Harlem Renaissance was an African-American cultural movement of the late 1920's, early 1930's.

James Mercer Langston Hughes was an american writer and one of the most important for the Harlem Renaissance. He wrote poetry, novels, plays, essays, and children's books. He had a lot of racial pride, and his work influenced many people at that time.

Langston Hughes called the Harlem Renaissance of "the expression of our dark-skinned individual selves" .
