How did the geography of greece contribute to its development

Since there are so many mountains in Greece, city-states were developed. The central government couldn’t be able to control all of Greece with those natural barriers, so there were ‘smaller governments’ instituted. The climate and soil affects what Greece grows and trades, which then affects economics.
