Its FALSE. Because  punctuated equilibrium is somewhat counter-intuitive because of stasis then an inadvertent rapid evolution.

The answer is FALSE. Charles Darwin's thoughts on evolution banked on a more gradual change of species to new ones. However, punctuated equilibrium proposes  just the opposite, namely, species are generally stable and unchanging until  a 'punctuation' of change occurs rapidly towards a new kind of species.
