Formula for the area of a circle: A = πr²

π is approximately 3.14

Solve for the area:

A = (3.14)(8.6)²

A = (3.14)(73.96) or 73.96π

A = 232.2344

Round to the nearest hundredth:

232.2344 → 232.23

Therefore, the area of the circle is 232.23cm² or 73.96π cm²

Best of Luck!
