Answer:

Denoting 2 desired numbers: x and y, then:

x + y = 17

2x = 3y + 4

<=>

x = 17 - y

2*(17 - y) = 3y + 4

<=>

x = 17 - y

34 - 2y = 3y + 4

<=>

x = 17 - y

5y = 30

<=>

y = 6

x = 17 - 6 = 11
