Volume of a pyramid is

[tex] \frac{1}{3 } \times (area \: \: of \: base) \times height[/tex]

Since it's a square pyramid the base is a square

So we have

Area of a square = l²

where l is the length of one side

Area of square = 22²

= 484 cm²

So volume of the pyramid is

[tex] = \frac{1}{3} \times 484 \times 8 = 1290.7 {cm}^{3} [/tex]
