This is just a fancy way your teacher saying that when you have an equation y=[tex]4^{x}[/tex]+1, what is y when x=-1,0,3.

We just need to solve by substituting the x in respectively.

x=-1, y=[tex]\frac{5}{4}[/tex]

x=0, y=1

x=3, y=65

Hope this helped! Any questions just put it in the comments.
