Trees don't really need flowers. Trees support themselves, they make their own food from sunlight, water, carbon dioxide, and nutrients from soil. But, during periods of stress, trees shed leaves, flowers, fruit, or branches. But trees don't need flowers. Flowers DO grow on trees though.
