The diatomic molecule that is formed when the 2 atoms share 6 electrons is nitrogen gas, N₂. There is a triple bond that exists between two nitrogen atoms in a diatomic nitrogen gas molecule. These bonds are made of a pair of shared electrons. So three bonds are made up of 6 shared electrons.
