You need to isolate the variable h. 

1) Subtract both sides by 2. 

-4h + 2 = 18
-4h + 2 - 2 = 18 - 2
-4h = 16

2) Divide both sides by -4 (the coefficient). 
(-4h) / -4 = 16 / -4
h = -4
