8 + 2x = y..................................2

Substitute (8 + 2x) for y in equation 1.

3(8 + 2x) - 6x = 24

24 + 6x - 6x = 24

24 = 24

Since, we have 24 = 24, we can say the system of equations have infinite solutions.
