[tex]|x-3|=x\implies x-3=x\implies 0x=3[/tex]

which has no solution.

When [tex]x<3[/tex],

[tex]|x-3|=x\implies -(x-3)=x\implies 2x=3\implies x=\dfrac32[/tex]
