x-4y=5
x=3y-2
x-4y=5
x-3y=-2
-y=7
y=-7
x+21=-2

well if x = 3y - 2, then everywhere u see and x remember it equals 3y - 2
so (3y - 2) - 4y = 5 then u distribute 
-3y + 2 - 4y = 5 then combine the y's
-7y + 2= 5 then subtract 2 from each side 
-7y = 3 then divide -7 on both sides
y = 3/-7 
x = -3.28
