Let the two numbers be x and y.

Given,

x = 2y

Also given,

x + y = 23

2y + y = 23

3y = 23

y = [tex] \frac{23}{3} [/tex] = 7.6666666666667 ≈ 7.66

x = 2y = 2*[tex]\frac{23}{3}[/tex]=[tex]\frac{46}{3}[/tex] = 15.333333333 = 15.33

Hence, the two numbers are 7.66 and 15.33
