Hello,

[tex]2x^2-8x+7=0\\ x^2-4x+ \frac{7}{2} =0\\ So\ a+b=4\ and\ \frac{a+b}{2} =2\ (x^2-(a+b)x+a*b=(x-a)(x-b)\ )[/tex]
