-3(x+3)=-3(x+1)-5
simplify with distributive property
-3x-9=-3x-6
add 3x to both sides 
x-9=-6
add nine two both sides
x=3

You need to multiply-3 for x and 3 and the same with the other -3 for x and for 1 it’s gonna look like this -3x+-9=-3x+-3 then you add -3x to -3x
-3x+-3x= -6x+-9=-3 then you do this -9 - -3=-6
Then this -6x= -6
-6 -6 X= 1
