Most deserts on earth, including the Sahara Desert and Mojave Desert, are found near the 30 degree latitude. Deserts account for about one-third of the Earth's land surface. Among this is the Sahara Desert which is one of the largest deserts on Earth. It is approximately 10% of the African continent. On the other hand, the Mojave Desert is located southwest of the United States.
