why couldn't you substitute 3M H2SO4 for concentrated HNO3 in Part 1?
Sulfuric acid isn't as solid as an oxidizing agent. For this situation, the sulfuring acid wouldn't be a sufficiently solid reducing agent which is the reason you wouldn't have the capacity to disintegrate copper oxide in it instead of in nitric acid.
