The Ku Klux Klan (KKK) is a white supremacist organization, whose goals
are to protect white privilege and obstruct any attempt at racial
equality. Part of its popularity in the 1920s was because it strongly
supported and defended (sometimes illegally) National Prohibition
(1920-1933).
