The answer is displacement. Displacement is a type of defense mechanism wherein the person shifts his/her impulse from an unacceptable or threatening object to a less threatening one. It is also said that this mechanism tends to redirect his/her aggression onto a powerless substitute. In this sample, the player redirects his frustration on losing the game to a powerless wall. The wall can't fight back thus making it a less threatening object.
